Description: Borton was contracted by Lone Star Industries to design/construct a complete 20,000-ton storage addition at their St. Louis, MO facility. The six (6) 32’-8” carbon steel tanks were supported by a reinforced concrete foundation upon (300) driven steel “H” piles. Each tank was designed with a 50-degree hopper. Also constructed was a boot pit with structural shed enclosure and a block MCC room. The mechanical, equipment, and electrical for this new facility were also included in this turnkey project.
