Description:
This design/build project consisted of pre-stressed concrete bakery and office buildings (approximately 80,000 square feet), including permitting, site work, procurement and construction. The bakery was engineered to accommodate raw ingredients receiving systems, process systems, and finished goods distribution systems. Borton also designed and installed the plant electrical power system, boiler, mechanical systems, and coordinated and assisted installation of owner-purchased HVAC systems for the bakery. Additionally, Borton assisted and coordinated the installation of owner-purchased process equipment. This first-of-a-kind “fast-track” project began startup within 7 months of contract award. Prior to this project, the site was a wheat field with no prior development.
